PMETH Principles |
|
Leadership Principles are fundamental
business principles that everyone in
business must know if he or she wants to be truly
successful and even go beyond being successful to
reaching one’s fullest potential.
Leadership training will take your
employees to the next level by enhancing their
interpersonal
skills, improving communication, team participation,
productivity, commitment and morale while decreasing
politics and confusion. |

Characteristics of a PMETH Leader |
 |
|
|
-
A PMETH Leader is a person
we gladly and willingly follow as opposed
to a "Societal Leader". A societal leader is a
person we follow because we have to.
Most people who are in leadership positions today
are in an appointed leadership position and
the two primary attributes that got them there are
intelligence and professional experience—NOT
their leadership ability. In organizations
people get confused about what real leadership is
because today's leaders look around and they see
people following them and so they think they must
be leaders. But a lot of the time people are
only following their "leaders" because their
livelihoods depend on it. If people are only
following you because they have to, you are
in essence dragging people along, and real leaders
don't have to drag people along with them.
-
A PMETH Leaders is a person we
look up
to and want to
emulate. This is the truest measure
of leadership.
-
First and foremost, a PMETH Leader
cares about people.
Effective leadership is about relationships and
taking the time to connect
with others. If you put people
first, everything else will fall into place!
-
Integrity is the
foundation of effective leadership. You may be
able to reach great heights without integrity, but
if you want to achieve and sustain long-term
success, you must possess and steadfastly adhere to
high moral principles and professional standards.
-
The Golden Rule.
Look, this is simple. If you want to make
extraordinary things happen; if you want to
achieve and sustain success (whatever your
definition of that may be); if you want to be
better than average, you absolutely must
treat others how you want to
be treated!
With every action you take, ask yourself how you
would like to be treated in a similar situation.
Never do to others that which we wouldn't
want to have done to us. This rule should
never be broken—it's that simple!
The
Bottom Line
An
exemplary leader is someone who has
integrity;
someone we
look up to;
someone we want to
emulate;
someone whom we
admire;
a person we
gladly
and
willingly
follow;
someone who
inspires
others to go the extra mile; a person we
enjoy
being around;
and a person who
cares
about
people.
When thinking about leadership in these terms, how many
people come to mind?I’m guessing not too many.
That is why it is critical for each and every one of us
to make a conscious effort to learn to lead.
